Welcome to Emma Clanfield Design Portfolio
Touched by Scotland, Oyne, Aberdeenshire
Touched by Scotland is a relaxed, welcoming gallery selling contemporary Scottish paintings, ceramics, glass, jewellery, textiles, wood and sculpture. The 2500 sq ft facility showcases some of the best artists from Aberdeenshire and throughout Scotland.
Returning from the Middle East in June 2007 Emma happened to visit Touched by Scotland in the village of Oyne, Aberdeenshire and got chatting to Jan Hobbs & Robin Baird about their exciting new store and restaurant project.

Touched by Scotland was established in 2003 to promote and support Scottish artists and craftspeople and being so successful had outgrown their original premises. Robin and Jan invited Emma to work with them on the interior of the new gallery, the largest venue of its type in Scotland. The design brief was dictated by the strong message coming from their customers which was not to lose the treasure trove feel of the original store. This was achieved by zoning the new store into different areas using freestanding furniture and display walls to create a surprise around every corner.

It was from working with Robin and Jan and seeing the wealth of talent that UK artists, craftspeople and designers have to offer that inspired the bespoke and handcrafted direction of Emma Clanfield Design.

Emma continues to work with Touched by Scotland on their displays and runs their in-store interior design service.
